Analysis Tools

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereafter: “Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your access device. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Please note that the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” has been added to our website’s use of Google Analytics to ensure the anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

Google uses this information to compile reports on the use of our website and to provide other services associated with the use of the website and the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software, even if you have given us prior consent to their use; however, we point out that in this case you may not be able to make use of the full functionality of our website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of our website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Alternatively you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will then be set set to prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.

Further information can be found at: http://google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html (general information on Google Analytics and data protection).

Google processes your personal data in the USA and is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager in conjunction with Google Analytics. The Google Tag Manager is also a Google product that allows us to manage webpage tags through one interface. The Tag Manager is a cookie-free domain and does not collect any personal data. The tool does however trigger other tags, which in turn may collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If you have deactivated cookies, this deactivation also applies to all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

Google Optimize

Our website also uses the web analysis and optimization service Google Optimize in conjunction with Google Analytics. Google Optimize allows us to analyze and improve the usability of our website based on its use by visitors. New features and content are displayed to a percentage of our users and changes in user behavior can then be evaluated. Personal data is not processed during this procedure and your IP address is anonymized. The legal basis for the processing of your data is the legitimate performance of our commercial activities, in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You can block the collection of your data by Google Optimize via the above mentioned opt-out link for Google Analytics.

Cookies for Marketing Purposes

Google Conversion Tracking

  1. We use Google Ads (“Ads”) to advertise our products and services on external websites. This tool allows us to determine how successful individual advertising campaigns are through statistical data related to these campaigns. Our aim is to provide you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you, and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising expenditure.
  2. This advertising is presented by Google via so-called “Ad Servers”. For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters for measuring success, such as the number of impressions or ad clicks, can be analyzed. If you access our website via a Google advertisement, Ads stores a cookie on your access device. These cookies usually expire after 90 days and are not intended to identify you personally. For this cookie, the unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (indicates that the user no longer wishes to receive advertising) are usually stored as analysis values.
  3. These cookies enable Google to recognize your Internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of a Ads customer’s website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Google and the Ads customer can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Ads customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced via the websites of Ads customers. We do not collect and process any personal data in the use of the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. On the basis of these evaluations we can recognize which of our advertising measures are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data and we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
  4. This advertising tool automatically establishes a connection between your browser and Google’s servers. We have no influence on the use of data collected by Google in this process and we can therefore only inform you to the best of our knowledge: through Ads Conversion Tracking, Google receives the information that you clicked on one of our ads or accessed the corresponding part of our website. If you are registered with a Google service, Google may associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address.
  5. You can opt out of this tracking procedure in various ways: a) by adjusting the settings in your browser software to block third-party cookies; b) by disabling cookies for conversion tracking by blocking cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com”; c) by deactivating the interest-based ads of the providers that are part of the “About Ads” campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, although this setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanently deactivating the placement of cookies in Firefox, Internet Explorer or in Google Chrome under the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case you may not be able to access the full functionality of our website.
  6. The legal basis for processing your data in this manner is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further information on Google’s data protection policy can be found here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html. Alternatively, you can visit the website of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Google Remarketing

We also use the “Google Remarketing” tool in conjunction with Google Ads. This is a process by which we can present advertising to you in the Google advertising network after you have visited one of our webpages. This is done by placing a cookie in your browser, which is used by Google to record and evaluate user behaviour on websites. Google can thereby determine previous visits to our website. According to Google’s own statements, Google does not combine data collected in the context of remarketing with any personal data that may be stored by Google. Furthermore, according to Google, only pseudonymous data is used for the purposes of remarketing.

DoubleClick

  1. We use Bing Ads Universal Event Tracking (UET), a service of the Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA, to advertise our products and services on external websites. This tool allows us to determine how successful individual advertising campaigns are through statistical data related to these campaigns. Our aim is to provide you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you, and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising expenditure.
  2. This advertising is presented by Bing via so-called “”Ad Servers””. For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters for measuring success, such as the number of impressions or ad clicks, can be analyzed. If you access our website via a Bing ad, Bing Ads stores a cookie on your access device.
  3. These cookies enable Microsoft to recognize your Internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of a Bing Ads customer’s website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Microsoft and the Bing Ads customer can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Bing Ads customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced via the websites of Bing Ads customers. We do not collect and process any personal data in the use of the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Microsoft. On the basis of these evaluations we can recognize which of our advertising measures are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data and we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
  4. This advertising tool automatically establishes a connection between your browser and Microsoft’s servers. We have no influence on the use of data collected by Microsoft in this process and we can therefore only inform you to the best of our knowledge: through Bing Ads UET, Microsoft receives the information that you clicked on one of our ads or accessed the corresponding part of our website. If you are registered with a Microsoft service, Microsoft may associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Microsoft or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address.
  5. You can opt out of this tracking procedure in various ways: a) by adjusting the settings in your browser software to block third-party cookies; b) by deactivating interest-based ads, via the link https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads; c) by deactivating interest-based ads from providers that are part of the “YourAdChoices” (http://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2#!/) or the Network Advertising Initiative (http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1#!/) self-regulation campaigns, although this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies. Please note that in these cases you may not be able to access the full functionality of our website.
  6. The legal basis for processing of your data in this manner is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
